I’m Michelle Jimenez, the owner and artist of Fruit Of The Bloom Boutique. My floral preservation journey began when I was planning my own wedding. Vibrant blooms were a major component of our April 2022 garden nuptials, and it broke my heart thinking that our breathtaking wedding day investment would end up in the trash. Floral preservation allowed me - and can allow you! - to have a visual reminder of your wedding, or any special moment in time, forever.

After spending more than 17 years in entertainment publicity, I decided to launch Fruit Of The Bloom full-time because, like fresh flowers, life is short. I want to spend every day surrounded by flowers, making art, and creating a second life for your special blooms.

When I’m not in the studio, I can be found exploring a new Los Angeles restaurant, camping or hiking with my friends, husband and labradoodle Paddington or daydreaming about a trip abroad.

For Tracy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Tracy had the dreamiest wedding at a castle in Scotland. While some of her original flowers didn’t make the journey back home to Los Angeles, we preserved the best white rose petals, pink spray roses, champagne astilbe, blue thistle and pittosporum from her bouquet and supplemented with additional spray roses and astilbe from the @theoriginallaflowermarket.

Tracy’s stunning wedding gown held a colorful surprise: a hidden pink, blue and purple train. We played off the beautiful colors in both her dress and floral arrangements with the shimmery ombre Traditional Vase. It took a couple of tries to get this one right, but we love how it turned out!

The navy background color of her custom charcuterie board is reminiscent of her husband’s family’s tartan, and it was so fun to find ways of including ribbons of that tartan in Tracy’s collection. We also included a “his and hers” set of wedding rings, forever encased in one of their picture frames, bouquet pins and floral “gems” that made the light bounce beautifully off her bouquet.

And did you peep the heart-shaped rose petal in the center of the cheese board?! There are no bounds to the beauty of nature…and love!

How beautiful are the bride’s white roses, hydrangea and lisianthus and blue delphinium framed around a photo of the sweet couple? A white bouquet with a pop of “something” blue is a classically stunning combination. And the subtle inclusion of her ribbon and bouquet pins are oh-so-sweet.

A custom shimmery gold on the picture frame adds an extra layer of elegance. We created a similar gold background for Arazi and Maral’s custom mezuzah and handpainted the clear shards of broken glass from their ceremony white and teal to match the teal in the special orchid petal pieces that the couple wanted specifically for this piece. A gold “Shin” is the perfect final touch for the mezuzah.

My jaw dropped when Elizabeth dropped off her bouquet, and I’m beyond thrilled that the colors of her vibrant bouquet stayed just as saturated with those gorgeous fuschia, peach, red, coral and periwinkle hues after drying for a month in silica sand (from @wisedry_).

The vast variety of flowers and textures was this creative’s DREAM, and I loved incorporating her crepe bouquet ribbons into the acrylic tray (14x11 with gold handles) and sneaking her bouquet pins into one of the four coasters.

A special “thank you” to her florist @rebel.creativeco for creating such a breathtaking arrangement and to Elizabeth for being so sweet and reminding me how much fun I can have preserving such meaningful pieces for clients.

🌹Support the local economy - While our job begins after a clients’ wedding day, we’re still wedding vendors. Your florist, wedding planner, photographer and DJ are local. Why not continue to help the small businesses near you?

🌹Save time & money - Some artists like Fruit Of The Bloom Boutique offer a bouquet pick-up service the night or weekend of your wedding, which means newlyweds have more time to relax and enjoy their wedding weekend. Who wants to think about rehydrating, packing and overnighting their bouquet on top of everything else?!

And did you know that overnighting your blooms can cost $75 - $150+? Think about what else you can do with that money: put it into your preservation order, use it for your honeymoon, purchase leftover items from your registry, etc.

🌹Keep your blooms FRESH - Your flowers will only look as good as we receive them, and the less the flowers are handled and the sooner they get into silica gel, the better they’ll look.

Your bouquet can 100% still look phenomenal if your florist selected quality blooms and if you follow your preservationist’ shipping directions to a T. But think how much easier it would be to simply hand off your bouquet to your preservationist.

We love the vintage quality that air-dried flowers have, and Danit had the most stunning two-toned spray roses in her bridal bouquet. She wanted to highlight the gold “stripes” in those roses, and the gold mezuzah glass and custom gold-toned “shin” complement each other so well.

If you have your wedding date and have secured a florist, now is the time to book your floral preservationist! We’re currently booking for 2025 and 2026, and in order to give your flowers the time and attention they deserve, we limit the number of bouquets we take in per month.

To secure your date and preserve your special event flowers, all you need to do is put down a $100 deposit. The deposit fee will be used towards your future order, but you don’t have to decide on preservation items - or pay your invoice - until your wedding date.

We adore incorporating invitations in our Bouquet Blocks, but using a clear acrylic invite was a first…and we’re IN LOVE! The addition of the couple’s custom wax seal was the perfect touch in this Arch Bouquet Block filled with pastel colored roses, carnations, lisanthus, stock, delphinium, tweedia, fern and Israeli ruscus.

Nayelly’s collection also includes a Standing Heart, a “his and hers” set of Ring Holders and two custom pendants made of “petal confetti.” The small heart pendant hangs on a 14 carat gold box chain, and her husband requested a pendant using a 925 sterling silver rectangular bezel.

The bride’s sister DeeDee had a similarly gorgeous monochromatic bridesmaid bouquet in white. Together, they decided to mix their bouquets and share the preservation order of three Coasters, two Pill-Shaped Jewelry Trays and one Traditional Ornament - all with complimentary gold flecks. 🥰

For Megan and Marini 🧡💖💚

When you have a vibrant and lush bouquet like Megan’s fuschia, coral, orange, green and white stunner by @lotusgardenpd - chock full of peonies, gerbera daisies, tulips, lisianthus, garden roses, stock, ranunculus, hydrangea and eucalyptus - it can be challenging to choose which blooms will go into the preservation pieces…a good problem to have! 😍

The lovely couple chose two Pill-Shaped Jewelry Trays, four Coasters and our Circular Jewelry Jar, all of which are relatively flat (between ½ and 1 inch deep). We worked our magic to press and reconstruct half of a coral peony into a custom tray for Megan’s mom, complete with bits of gold foil for extra sparkle.

Instead of making all of the coasters matchy-matchy, we opted to use as many different elements from the bouquet as we could while keeping Megan’s entire collection cohesive. Can you peep the sweet white-striped ribbon in two of Megan’s coasters? Such fun elements beg to be highlighted.

The Faceted Jewelry Jar is quickly becoming a client favorite, and we love how an entire garden rose fits inside the bottom of the jar - such a fun surprise and gorgeous place to keep your rings or other jewelry safe.

Step 532&82348!452348 of the floral preservation process: DEBURRING!

When resin cures, it shrinks ever so slightly, creating a small raised edge - or “lip” - on the perimeter of a piece. Before we sand the piece down and give it a shiny top or flood coat, we want to get rid of those sharp edges and use the funky little “deburring” tool in the video.

With slight pressure, we guide the deburrer around the edge, and it safely takes off a thin layer of the lip. We repeat this process until the raised edge is gone, and our surface for the sanding stage is flat.

Those sharp edges are (ONE!) of the reasons my hands look like they’ve gone through the ringer. Demolding pieces can sometimes mean getting cut. Alas, I am an ARTISTE and not a hand model. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

A moody tray for Janna 💖🖤

It was unbelievably hard to give this bespoke beauty back to the bride. The bouquet, a stunner by @brubaker_floral_co, had so much texture and movement, and the blush roses, white spray roses, orange dahlia, white spider mum, brown lisianthus, blue thistle, chocolate cosmos, seeded eucalyptus, fern and green amaranthus look SO good in the custom 17-inch hammered gold tray. The Black Gradient resin design showcases the layers and artistry of the bouquet and makes the lighter-colored flowers in particular really POP!

We smitten with the matching jewelry jar, which is quickly becoming a client favorite. Light loves to dance off the faceted edges, further illuminating the preserved flowers, and since the base of the jar is one inch deep, we can highlight blooms like Janna’s dahlia without manipulating their natural shape.

A HEAVENLY collection for Jenna 💐

This sweet bride reached out several days after her wedding had passed, and unfortunately, her all-white bridal bouquet of Calla Lilies didn’t make it. While we offered to do a recreation, she decided instead that she wanted us to preserve the stunning white phalaenopsis orchids that were at her reception.

Classically beautiful, white orchids are anything but simple. The intricate veining of the petals that become more visible in resin is mother nature showing off her natural beauty. 🌞

The blush, brown, coral and white tones in this Arch Bouquet Block have our heart. We had to do major “petal surgery” on the mums, but they look so good especially juxtaposed to the fluffy and full lisianthus. And not sure why carnations get a bad wrap because they have so much body, come in a literal rainbow of colors and preserve so nicely.

It was such an honor to work on this beautiful boho bouquet that Jeanette can showcase in her home for years and years to come.

We’re in love with the first half of this sweet bride’s vibrant collection, featuring sunflowers, red spray roses, blue delphinium and red hypericum berries. Berries of all kinds shrivel and brown when dried, so we like to use faux berries instead. Despite treating them, they bled a bit in the resin. Lauren liked the artsy effect - so did we! - so we embraced it in all her pieces.

Her collection included 5 coasters, the round jewelry jar, a mezuzah using the turquoise glass shards from her ceremony, a traditional ornament and a sterling silver necklace. We were able to incorporate tiny pieces of glass in the pendant in addition to the “petal confetti.” Obsessed with all the colors!

Wanting to gift more members of her family with custom pieces made with her wedding flowers, Lauren made a couple of additional orders. Follow us so you don’t miss seeing those items.

She requested I make her one of my “coral petal” necklaces in dark blue, so I decided to gift it to her. It is made out of a dried white rose petal that sipped on some concentrated floral dye. 😉

We swooned over the diversity and color in her tropical bridal bouquet and are obsessed with all of the designs by @thelittlebranch.

Since they hold so much moisture, the color of tropical flowers tend to change the most during the drying process. While we typically favor the natural lifecycle of flowers, the orchids needed some color correction. We used pan pastels to subtly bring back the pink and yellow/orange in Kaitlin’s gorgeous orchids for her set of coasters and ring holder.

Okay - so you have the most dreamy preservation piece. Now what? How do you take care of it?

🌼 Can you admire the clarity and shine of your botanical art in the sunshine? Technically yes, but keep it brief, please. Over time, direct sunlight as well as high heat or humidity can cause your pieces to prematurely yellow. There are many stellar display options for your one-of-a-kind sentimental pieces, but outside, in front of a window or a fireplace should be avoided.

As a reminder, ALL resin will develop a slight amber, “vintage” color over time. While we use the most premium, crystal clear, UV-resistant and VOC-free epoxy resin in the market, a bit of a yellow hue is inevitable and natural after many years. Display your pieces properly to keep that clear, glass-like look for as long as possible!

🌸 While epoxy resin may look like glass, it’s technically a type of plastic. Using Windex or any other chemical cleaners can break down or scratch your pieces. Do not put them in the dishwasher either, please! All you really need to get rid of those inevitable dust bunnies is a clean microfiber cloth, gentle hand or dish soap and water. Easy peasy!

🌺Epoxy resin is hard and durable, but it is also fragile. It can crack or chip if dropped or endure scratches if not cared for properly.

🌼 Admire your beautiful botanical blooms every day and be reminded of your wedding, meaningful occasion or that person so special you are better for having known them.
